The Bedrock of the Conservative Movement

In each precinct within Johnson County, Republican voters select a Precinct Committeeman and Precinct Committeewoman. These important individuals serve as captains for their precinct, and play several important roles, including:
  • Electing the Johnson County Republican Leadership Team
  • Selecting delegates to the 3rd Congressional District Republican Party
  • Filling mid-term vacancies in the Kansas House or Kansas Senate when the office was held by a Republican.
  • Serving as the voice of the Republican Party within your precinct.
  • Assisting Republican candidates for office within your precinct.
As elected officials under Kansas law, precinct committeemen and women have the ability to directly impact policy at all levels by involvement in primaries. You can ensure conservatives are elected at every level of government.

Within the areas where NWJCR is engaged, there are over nearly 180 precinct positions - many of them vacant. Even where there is already a great conservative in place, you can get involved by helping that precinct captain, including times when you can serve as a proxy.
