About the Northwest Johnson County Republican Network
NorthWest Johnson County Republicans are conservatives living in the cities of Lenexa and Shawnee who are interested in education and activism. The following is our focus:

First, we want to bring conservatives together so they can draw strength from others who share their political beliefs and their interests in the political state of affairs. By unifying, we hope to create a collective voice that warrants consideration in the public arena (but we certainly don't expect to be, nor would we want to be the only voice). We also want conservative to utilize each other to refine points of view by vetting and reviewing them internally. In all this, we hope to lessen the perceived need for aggressive or negative discourse. By developing a position of strength, conservatives should be able to develop a more thoughtful and constructive approach to engagement with others in the forum of public discourse.

Second, we need to organize and to educate. One of the primary goals of this club is to support and influence the election of individuals to various offices who have integrity and believe in conservative principles. If this is a goal, then it means that, by default, one of our primary goals is to get conservatives to vote. This means finding them, engaging them and educating them.

Third, we need to be recruiting and working with individuals who are interested in holding public office.

Fourth, there is what Covey calls the "other end of the stick. Meaning if you pick up one end of the stick, you pick up the other. What that says is that if government is not going to do some of the things we feel are important, who is ? We need to connect with community organizations that meet the needs or the less fortunate and support/encourage them. Because if we don’t meet the needs of people in some way outside of government, then government becomes the default.

Lastly, I think we want to have some fun. I don't know just what form this will take, but I hope we can increase our sense of community via some social activities that will allow us to gather to get to know each other.

Sincerely,

Scott Webster
Chairman
